Which Medications should I Discontinue Before My Bariatric Surgery?

Medically Reviewed by Katelyn J. Mock, US-Registered Dietician (R.D.)

You will have to discontinue self-medication of any kind, such as:

  • Blood Thinners
  • Aspirin
  • Multivitamins one week prior to your surgery

It is recommended you ask your bariatric surgeon about any queries related to both prescribed and non-prescribed medications.

Bariatric Surgery is not a short-cut to weight loss. It requires committing to eating and living healthy.
